This website presents a dynamic snapshot of some of the initiatives of TISS in the wake of the crisis caused by the novel coronavirus. The TISS Covid-19 Task Force has been constituted to support people, institutions and processes in the ongoing efforts to mitigate the ill effects of the pandemic and the site gives glimpses of the work done in this context.
TISS has a long history of responding to disasters such as the Bhopal gas tragedy, droughts, floods and earthquakes in various parts of the country, communal riots, and work with refugees, that dates back to 1948. Upholding this tradition in the context of the global pandemic of Covid-19, faculty, students and alumni across campuses have joined hands to offer diverse services and are working in various capacities to respond to the emerging needs of communities, through field action and policy support to both national and state governments.
TISS works at the intersections of health, policy, interventions, research, support and communications. This website will cross link our work in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
