About Spotlight

The School of Media and Cultural Studies has produced animation videos in Hindi and English which comprise a four part series, “Our Health in our Hands” | अपना स्वास्थ्य अपने हाथ! These form part of our response in combating Covid-19. Part 1 lines up simple tips to protect oneself. Part 2 provides information on how to handle the Covid-19 infection if required and how to interface with the health system. Part 3 offers support for coping with the lockdown and Part 4 delineates how to create a safe and supportive environment. These animated videos address hand hygiene and community safety protocols, give detailed guidance on redressing ration and water shortage via civic engagement and action,  and offer measures on escaping and dealing with domestic violence and mental stress. Further, the issue of livelihoods and survival has also been addressed. Along with this, media have been created to bust venom-spewing fake news with the aim of spreading awareness about good citizenship to our viewers so as to strengthen community bonds in these trying times.

Other videos and material on a range of relevant issues, from physical and psychosocial health to issues of senior citizens has been created with the involvement of faculty and staff of TISS.
